Sharks Downed By Power

A ten man Palm Beach SC have suffered their first defeat of the pre-season, falling 2-1 to Peninsula Power in the Macron Cup on Saturday.

All three goals came in a frantic ten minute period in the first half, with Sharks levelling once via Rees Duncan but unable to bounce back following the sending off of Adam Endean on 32 minutes.

Steven Cleary opened the scoring just after the quarter hour for Power, who compete in Football Brisbane's Trophy Superstore Premier League competition.

Duncan levelled terms inside five minutes with a looping finish past Power goalkeeper Jake Reesby for his second goal of the pre-season.

However, Power’s Byron Napper soon returned Power back to the lead with a chipped finish past Sharks shotstopper Ryan Meskell.

Jack Boxell was controversially dismissed for a heay challenge five minutes later, effectively putting paid to hopes of a comeback for the defending PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland Champions.

Sharks continue their pre-season campaign on Tuesday against Sunshine Coast Football McDonald’s Premier League side Maroochydore FC as the pre-season competition continues.
