The Gap FC have secured the services of former Westfield W-League players Ruth Blackburn, Leah Curtis and Rebecca Price for the club's debut PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland season.

Former Brisbane Roar defender Price will also captain the side after pledging her future to the title favourites.

Open Womens Coach Rob Askew said retaining the nationally-experienced players is a mark of intent for 2015.

"Re-signing these girls is very important to us," Askew said.

"Apart from being terrific footballers they are also part of our leadership group and understand what this club is all about. They will play an important role in introducing new players to our club's culture."

Blackburn, Curtis and Price all helped The Gap to last season's SEQ Women's Premier League title and will play key roles in mkaing the step-up.

Askew lauded their contribution to the club's recent success.

"Ruth and Leah have been at the heart of our midfield for the past three successful seasons. Both are difference players who step up when something special is needed," he said.

"Rebecca (Bec) has been our captain for the past four or five seasons, she is a fantastic leader and a great mentor to younger players.

"She is more than a terrific defender - our centre-backs often initiate attacks and Bec always makes a solid contribution in terms of goals and assists."

Price spoke of her excitement about leading the team into a new competition, after a clean sweep of trophies in 2014.

"I feel very privileged to be offered the captaincy of such a proud and successful club," she said.

"I'm looking forward to helping create an elite environment where our young PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland players are challenged and learn through football.

"The end goal is to see our players progress to play for their state and country, and win some silverware along the way."

News of the re-signings follows soon after The Gap's capture of 25-year-old Irish international Elaine Murray.
