A trio of PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland juniors will make the jump to senior football at Redlands United in 2015, the club has confirmed.

17-year-olds Sam Langley, Austin Gosney and Jaiden Brown have been added to the senior squad by Red Devils coach Matt Chandler for next season.

The three youngsters will join former Under 16 teammates Liam Choules, Qais Khan and Jayden Prasad, who all made the transition to the senior squad last year.

Chandler explained the signings were an indication of the strength of the Red Devils' youth development programme.

“We’ve brought in three boys who were in Under 16s last year and now we’ve brought in another three from our academy into the NPL system this year,” Chandler said.

“That’s six boys who have come into the Senior Team from the 2013 Under 16’s side - we feel that’s pretty unique and quite successful.”

Chandler added, "We didn’t want to sign Brisbane players who have been around for years but instead we are trying to develop our young players and give them the opportunity."

“Our development philosophy and strategic plan fits in with the NPL structure and it’s what the game is all about.”

Gosney and Brown are touted as promising defenders, while Langley is slated to serve in the centre of midfield.

The trio combined for more than 50 PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland matches across both the Under 18 and Youth Men’s divisions in 2014.

Chandler suggested that experience will serve them well in replicating the success of last year’s intra-club promotions.

“They’ve all done really well last season and played a high level of games. Jayden Prasad had a great season and even scored two goals on this debut against Brisbane City,” he said.

“The other three will be a further success to the story,” he concluded.

The latest additions lift the number of confirmed signings at Redlands to twelve for the upcoming PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland season, with further announcements expected in coming weeks.
