Football Queensland Chief Executive Officer Geoff Foster presented the 2014 PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland awards on Saturday at Suncorp Stadium.

A formal presentation was made to Most Valuable Player Chris Lucas of Palm Beach SC and Media Manager of the Year Nick Crockford of Moreton Bay United prior to the afternoon's Hyundai A-League match between Brisbane Roar and Perth Glory.

Further award winners Shane Viitakangas (Palm Beach SC), Braedyn Crowley (Northern Fury FC) and Royce Brownlie (Moreton Bay United FC) were unable to attend due to other commitments.

Palm Beach SC coach Grae Piddick accepted the Safe Hands award on behalf of Sharks goalkeeper Shane Viitakangas, while Crockford accepted the Golden Boot award on behalf of Jets striker Royce Brownlie.

Braedyn Crowley’s Young Player of the Year award was accepted by Townsville-based Football Queensland President Greg Redington.

The award winner were recognised on the pitch following the presentations as part of Brisbane Roar’s pre-game entertainment.

Foster said the awards and occasion were just reward for outstanding individual contributions throughout the season.

“The award winners have worked extremely hard all season and deserve not only their awards but this opportunity to enjoy the afternoon’s Roar match,” Foster said.

The award winners, club representatives and Football Queensland dignitaries watched Roar fight from a goal down to record a 1-1 draw with Glory. In the earlier game, Roar’s Westfield W-League side defeated Canberra United 2-1.
