Bentleigh Greens have continued their scouting of Queensland talent by signing Palm Beach SC midfielder Troy Ruthven for 2015.

Ruthven becomes the third PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland player to join the Victorian club this off-season, following teammate Chris Lucas and Brisbane Strikers forward Matt Thurtell.

The 24-year-old midfielder was a key component of Sharks’ 2014 PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Premiership and Grand Final winning teams, as well as playing in all three of the club’s Westfield FFA Cup ties.

Ruthven made 24 PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland appearances and scored five goals for the Gold Coast club in 2014.

His consistent contributions to the team this season was acknowledged with the Player’s Player Award at Sharks club awards night.

A statement on Palm Beach’s Facebook page said, “After a stellar season with the Sharks, it's really no surprise he has been snapped up.

“We wish you all the best Troy, thanks for your efforts this season,” the statement concluded.
