Talented midfielder Scott Bow has become Olympic FC’s first new off-season signing as the beaten Grand Finalists look to go one better in 2015.

Bow, 24, has signed on after spending the past two PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland seasons with Redlands United, already making his first appearance for Olympic in Wednesday night’s friendly against Brisbane Roar.

Head Coach Jim Bellas is confident Bow will improve a squad which reached three Grand Finals in 2014 along with the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 16.

“Scott has signed and will be a good addition to the team,” Bellas said.

“He showed against Brisbane Roar he’s very agile, skillful and very fit. He’s still only a young boy but he’s a good player and can play in several positions which is helpful.”

While Bow’s acquisition marks the first new arrival, a host of established names have already re-signed with Olympic FC.

Captain Danny Byrne, experienced defenders Matt Mundy, Daniel Crack, Darren Gray and Mark Fisk, Cuminao brothers James and Brandon, and striker Mustafa Jafari are all confirmed for 2015.

Bellas plans to secure more of his squad over the break while also reinforcing with fresh faces as the inaugural PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland champions look to recapture their silverware, but the boss remained tight-lipped on potential additions.

“The majority have re-signed and I’ll be talking to a few more in the coming days,” he said.

“We want to strengthen for next year and I’ve spoken to a couple of others but until they put pen to paper I won’t be saying anything!

“We’ll add a few of the young boys to reach a 20-man squad and see how we go next year. I think we’ll be very competitive.”
