Jets Appoint Piddick As New Coach

Moreton Bay United have announced that Adam Piddick will be senior head coach of the side for the 2015 PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland season.
Piddick, 30, joins Jets from PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland rivals Brisbane Strikers, where he coached the Youth Men’s team last year and the Under 18 Boys team in 2013.
He is also played for Redlands United in the former Queensland State League that was superseded by the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues in 2013.
He is the younger brother of Palm Beach Sharks head coach Grae Piddick, who guided the Gold Coast club to the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Premiership-Championship double this year.
The younger Piddick said he was looking forward to the challenge of coaching a senior PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland team.
“I’m very excited at the opportunity. It’ll be my first season in the job, but I’m not daunted by it,” Piddick explained.
“It’s a young club. It’s ambitious and it fits the bill for my ambitions as well.”
He further promised a possession-based and attractive style of football under his reign at Jets.
“A possession-based game was a big factor at Strikers. My philosophy is along same lines. My job is to get the players to buy in to that philosophy,” Piddick said.
“I am the senior coach, but I’ll be looking to have a big influence on the under 20s and 18s to develop them,” he added.
Pre-season training will start in early November for Jets and Piddick plans to have the majority of his squad in place before Christmas.
Jets’ board member Tony Dooley said Piddick’s drive, approach and plans made him a stand-out candidate for the highly coveted position.
“Adam was selected from a quality list of candidates based on his philosophy of developing the technical ability for an entire group, attacking and defensive strategies and his understanding and application of football’s National Curriculum,” Dooley said.
“The Jets’ board and players look forward to working with Adam and building on the club’s success in its first two years.”
Piddick replaces inaugural head coach Terry Kirkham, who departed Jets to coach community club Peninsula Power last month after two years at the helm.
