An early goal has knocked Gold Coast City off the top of the ladder and kept Western Pride in the top four after a 1-0 result at Mallawa Complex.

Dylan Wenzel-Halls scored a cracker of a goal for Pride in the fourth minute to seal the points early and troubled the opposition throughout the full 90 with his trickery and pace.

City were hoping for a home win to keep themselves three points ahead of Brisbane Strikers, but now sit equal on 48 points and eight goals behind in goal difference.

Pride have banked 38 points so far this season and will remain in the top four, keeping themselves ahead of Moreton Bay United with their impressive 38 goal difference.

Pride will be looking to secure their position with a victory over Northern Fury next week at Briggs Road Sporting Complex, while City will take on Moreton Bay United at Wolter Park.
