Peninsula Power Women have snapped The Gap Women's incredible 30-match winning streak with a 4-1 win at AJ Kelly Park on Sunday afternoon.

Both teams entered the encounter having won their opening three games, but Power made a statement by knocking Gators off their unbeaten perch.

Brooke Barbuto scored the game's two most important goals, giving Power the lead in the first half before rounding off the scoring midway through the second.

Ruth Blackburn drew The Gap level at 1-1, her sixth goal of the season, but Power were unperturbed and kicked on to secure the massive result.

Power will look to build even more momentum when they visit Sunshine Coast Women next Sunday, while The Gap will attempt to start another winning streak at home against Brisbane Olympic Women on Saturday night.
