GCC Prevail After 9-Goal Thriller

Gold Coast City Women scored five first-half goals on the way to a resounding 6-3 win over SWQ Thunder Women at Duncan McKenna Field on Sunday afternoon.

Jayde Lowe continued her impressive form in front of goal with a double, bringing her season tally to seven goals from four games.

Lowe was matched by her teammate Georgia Elliston, who scored two in the opening half hour as Gold Coast led 5-2 at the break.

Thunder did equalise shortly after Elliston's opener through Louise Rolfe, but City ran in the next four goals to take command of the match.

Gold Coast travel to Eastern Suburbs Women next weekend, while Thunder will be at home to Souths United Women.
