A remarkable four goal second half from Greg Cheshire has seen Brisbane Strikers comfortably account for the Northern Fury at Perry Park on Saturday night.

It didn’t take long for the Strikers to get in the mood, with Jake McLean’s deflected shot just under ten minutes in opening the scoring.

Despite the Fury’s positive response, the Strikers would double their advantage, with Jeremy Stewart capitalising on a well worked counter-attack to score from close range.

The Fury would pull one back, however, with Jake Perry taking advantage of a poorly defended cross to slot home.

It was all Strikers – especially Greg Cheshire – in the second half, though, running riot to set up Stewart’s second goal just after the restart, before scoring an impressive four of his own.

The big win for Strikers sees them keep pace with ladder leaders Brisbane Olympic, while importantly creating breathing room from the Fury, who will hope for a big response hosting the Roar Youth at home next week.
