Souths Continue Perfect Start

Souths United Women have won the battle of two undefeated teams against UQFC Women at Wakerly Park on Sunday afternoon.
The hosts had the better of the chances throughout the match and opened the scoring shortly before the half-hour mark through centre forward Elise Franco.
Souths took a one goal lead into the break which doubled five minutes after the restart as Ambrosia Malone finished superbly to finish of a spellbinding run towards goal.
In a strong period for Souths, Franco extended her side's lead to three goals five minutes with her second strike of the afternoon.
The victory is Souths second in as many games to open the season while the loss is UQFC's first for the season after an opening round victory.
UQFC now face a tough challenge against undefeated side Pensinula Power while Souths face defending champions The Gap who were enter the clash on the back of a defeat to Gold Coast City.

14' - CHANCE FOR SOUTHS - After a high rising corner from Elise Franco, Tayler Stevens stealthily runs towards the far post but her header is deflected wide.
29' - GOAL FOR SOUTHS - From the edge of the centre-circle, Franco sky-rockets a brilliant shot, aiming for the top left-hand corner which catches keeper Danniel Harbot off guard and finds the back of the net.
34' - CHANCE FOR SOUTHS - Deeanna Thompson sprints past the UQ defence down the flanks and places a high ball into the area where Jody Burchell skies the ball over the bar.
50' - GOAL FOR SOUTHS - Ambrosia Malone skims past the UQ defence and lobs the ball into the top-right corner from the edge of the area.
55' - GOAL FOR SOUTHS - Thompson sends a flaming cross towards the penalty spot which benefits Franco who fires the ball into the bottom left-corner for her second goal of the game.
