Pride Win At Ipswich Sports Awards

Western Pride FC have won big at the City of Ipswich Sports Awards - the club claiming Sporting Organisation of the Year, while coach Graham Harvey shared the Coach of the Year honour.

Pride General Manager Pat Boyle believes the awards are an acknowledgement that the club's focus on developing local talent and engaging the local community is paying dividends.

Redlands United FC are back on the training pitch as they aim to become the first PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland club to defend silverware in 2017.

Coach and Technical Director Matt Chandler explained that recruitment is progressing well but hasn't let slip any of his new signings.

 

Bird Back On Deck For Pride

Western Pride FC have confirmed another big re-signing from last year's squad, with attacking midfielder Mitchell Bird set to return for next year's campaign.

Bird, was Pride's 2016 Best and Fairest Award winner - knocking in seven goals in 22 league appearances for the Ipswich-based club.

 

Barnes Returns For City In 2017

Brisbane City FC have locked in their fifteenth player for next season with confirmation young defender Kai Barnes will return in sky blue.

A product of City's Youth system, Barnes was a regular presence for John Kosmina's side last year - amassing 14 starts for the capital city outfit.

 

 

Fire Junior Gets NZ Chance

Sunshine Coast FC Under 16 Boys defender Keegan New has received a call-up to a New Zealand Under 17 training camp.

He will be battling it out to be on of 18 players ultimately selected to represent the team in next October's FIFA Under 17 World Cup 2017 in India.

 

Mariners Juniors Take To Pathway

The appeal of the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues talented player pathway continues to reach across the state, with four junior players identified from CQFC Mariners for the 2017 season.

Corne Boshoff and Baillie Elliott will join Sunshine Coast FC, while Dylan Walz and Charlie McDonald will play for SWQ Thunder FC and Olympic FC, respectively.
