Sunshine Coast referee Vicky Clark has been appointed to officiate Sunday’s PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland Women’s Grand Final at Walton Bridge Reserve.

Clark, who is already part of Football Federation Australia’s National Talent Pool, has been selected for her first Grand Final after impressing in the middle this season.

The 19-year-old is excited to make the step-up for what is her biggest appointment to date.

“I think this year has been the best year I’ve had of refereeing,” Clark said.

“I’ve learned a lot and obviously it’s showing.

“It will be the same routine as always because it’s exactly the same game, but just a bigger crowd and better atmosphere.

“That’s just going to make me more pumped up and excited for the game, and (help me) perform better.”

Clark’s team for Sunday’s match includes assistant referees Danielle Potticary and Krystina Markovics, along with fourth official Taylah Scholefield.

Football Queensland State Referees Development Officer David Wiebe said the quartet all shone throughout 2016.

“This is a relatively young team however their combined performances have written their names on the appointments sheet,” Wiebe said.

“Vicky has improved in many aspects of her refereeing this year.

“Her strong performances throughout the year have earned her this game and her future looks bright.

“Danielle and Krystina have both had fantastic seasons and Taylah has come along in leaps and bounds this year and is a well-respected member of the refereeing community.”
