PS4 NPL Women’s Queensland Finals Details
Football Queensland has confirmed fixture details for this weekend’s PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Women’s Queensland Semi-Finals.
This year’s finals are comprised solely from teams based in Brisbane with 2016 Premiers The Gap FC Women joined by Souths United Women, Olympic FC Women and Eastern Suburbs FC Women.
Souths and Olympic are making their first ever appearance in the Finals, while Gators and Easts are making their second consecutive appearance.
The winner from each Semi-Final will advance to the PlayStation 4 NPL Women’s Queensland 2016 Grand Final.
The first Semi-Final will see Gators host Easts at Walton Bridge Reserve on Saturday, August 27 at 7:00PM.
The Gators, who are the defending competition Champions, have won all twenty regular season games this year and boast the best defensive record in the competition with only eight goals conceded this year.
Easts are lining up for their second appearance in the Finals and looking to better last year’s exit at the first hurdle against Peninsula Power Women.
The second Semi-Final will guarantee either Olympic or Souths their first appearance in the Grand Final and will be played on Sunday, August 28 at 3:30PM at Souths home ground of Wakerley Park.
Souths have been the big improvers of 2016 following a concerted player recruitment drive – improving on last year’s single win to finish the season in second place.
Olympic are also enjoying their best season to date. They wrapped up a third place finish thanks in no small part to the competition record goal return of striker Kirsten Jamieson (59 goals).
Details for the Grand Final will be confirmed by Football Queensland at a later date.
