A second half equaliser from Moreton Bay United has consigned Northern Fury to their first ever winless season after the side’s drew 1-1 at Wolter Park.

Fury looked set to break their duck in this year’s PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues after taking an early lead via a stunning long-range strike from George Dalton.

However, Jets skipper and leading goal scorer Royce Brownlie leveled terms on the hour with his eighth goal of the season to split the points.

The result puts an end to the worst season in Fury’s four-year history in the national second tier – the Townsville club taking just four points over the 22 match campaign.

For Jets, the result also concludes a disappointing defense of last year's breakthrough title win. Their seventh place finish marks the first time they have ended a season in the bottom half of the table.

What They Said

“Disappointed about the result, but good that we got some young players into first team football. I think we had six or seven players under 19 out there. We still put a side which should have won the game. The work rate was good, but it’s decision making where we have to improve. It’s something we have to work very, very hard on for next season.” – Adam Piddick, Moreton Bay United FC technical director

“It’s been a very tough season. To get a point away from home was pleasing but also the manner we did it. We were disciplined, the players kept their shape well, made it difficult for them (Jets) and played some reasonable football. Every week we have some inconsistencies, but this week we had a good performance.” – Ian Ferguson, Northern Fury FC coach
