Olympic FC Women have booked their place in the PlayStation 4 NPL Women’s Queensland Finals Series after dispatching Western Pride Women 5-0 at Goodwin Park.

The hosts found the back of the net three times in five minutes to lay the foundation for the win prior to half-time – Natalie Tathem and Kirsten Jamieson’s strieks adding to a Pride own goal.

League-leading goal scorer Jamieson struck again shorty before the hour to seal the points before Allira Toby iced the result in the closing stages.

The result sees Olympic move ahead of Eastern Suburbs FC Women into third on the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Women’s table.

Pride’s third loss on the trot sees them remain eighth but a strong finish to the campaign can see them still improve on last year’s finish.

Key Moments

31’ – GOAL FOR OLYMPIC – Kirsten Veeren palms away Rachel Smith’s cross but it falls to the feet of Natalie Tathem, who converts the second chance from the edge of the penalty area

35’ – GOAL FOR OLYMPIC - Leah Miles launches a pin point pass from her own half that finds Kirsten Jamieson on the fly, and the striker is able to round Veeren and slide it home from close range

36’ – GOAL FOR OLYMPIC – Allira Toby looks to pick out Jamieson at the back post but her cross takes a deflection off a Pride defender that leaves Veeren no chance of making the save

58’ – GOAL FOR OLYMPIC – Jamieson wriggles free of her marker to get one-on-one with Veeren and makes no mistake as she slips the finish underneath the Pride custodian

77’ – CHANCE FOR OLYMPIC – Jamieson arrows a skimming shot from the edge of the penalty area that gets the better of Veeren but crashes back off the post

87’ – GOAL FOR OLYMPIC – Jamieson slides a neat pass to Toby and the Olympic winger does the rest with a skilful shot across her body that nestles in the bottom corner

What They Said

“I thought we played pretty well. We started a bit slow but as the game went on we got it together. We were able to create a lot of chances and it probably could have been more in the end if it wasn’t for Kirsten (Vereen).” – Kristi New, Olympic FC Women defender

“We had a couple of shadow players come tonight and they fitted in perfectly. We came in with a game plan and did most of it well for the whole game. A couple of the goals were well worked by Olympic but a couple were unlucky as well, so overall pretty happy with the performance.” – Kirsten Veeren, Western Pride FC Women captain
