Brisbane Strikers coach Kevin A’herne-Evans only one result on Sunday evening is acceptable when his team takes on Western Pride at Perry Park – a win.

Strikers remain neck and neck with PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland league leaders FNQ Heat and three points later today against Pride will set-up a make-or-break clash next week between the competition’s top two sides.

Strikers coach Kevin A’herne-Evans believes his side need to take maximum points from their remaining four games if they are to breakthrough for their first PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Premiership after falling just short last year.

However, despite Pride sitting second from bottom on the table, he knows there are no guarantees in the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues.

“I don’t think there’s that much difference between the top and the bottom teams in this competition – it’s just that little bit of consistency,” A’Herne-Evans explained.

“I was really impressed when we played them in the first round with how creative they were up front.”

A’herne-Evans added that the pressure will be firmly on his own side, despite a relatively comfortable four goal win when the sides last met in April.

“We’re at the stage of the season where we are fighting for a title so the pressure on us is completely different to anything that’s on Western Pride.  They’ve got a freedom that causes havoc sometimes.”

“But the situation we’re in, we almost expect to be in three or four weeks claiming that title.  To make that achievable we have to win on Sunday.”

A’herne-Evans said there are no injury concerns in his squad following their record-equalling 6-0 win over Rovers Darwin on Wednesday in the Westfield FFA Cup.

However, doubts remain as to whether skipper Michael Angus will take his place in the match day squad as he seeks to overcome the flu that prevented him from leading the side in Darwin.
