Brisbane Roar Youth have ended a four match winless run with a 3-1 result over Northern Fury at Townsville Sports Reserve

Young Roar claimed victory on the back of second half goals for Jesse Daley and Harrison Sawyer to post their first win in Townsville in PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues.

The sides went into half-time level – Nicholas Panetta giving Young Roar the lead in the opening minutes before Fury defender Darren Walker pinched one back for the home team immediately before the break.

The win means Young Roar remain in the hunt for a top four finish amidst a mid-table log jam.

While the bottom of the table Fury are still searching for their first win of the campaign, with just three matches remaining in the season.

What They Said

“For the first 50 minutes we were in the game, we have to look at the positives and we come back from one nil down going into the second half. In the second half they score from a counter attack against our corner, it’s hard to except because we had worked hard to get up to that end of the field and they turn us around and score on the counter” - Jonathon Bagley, Norther Fury midfielder

“I think for us there is always something to improve on, but I think to come away tonight with the result it’s something to be proud of. The boys dug in and it was a really big effort. Full credit to the Fury boys they tried to play and they made it difficult for us tonight to get the result” - Jesse Daley, Brisbane Roar FC Youth captain
