Greta Bodey struck four goals as The Gap FC Women continued their march towards back-to-back Premierships with a comprehensive 10-0 rout of Peninsula Power Women at Walton Bridge Reserve.

Power had no answers against a rampant Gators outfit that wrapped up the win inside the first half – Bodey’s four goals complemented by a Charlotte Bohl and Eden Jones.

There was no respite for the visitors in the second half as Bohl struck twice more for her hat-trick, Jones converted her brace, while Talitha Doro also chimed in for the league leaders.

The result maintains a five point advantage for the undefeated Gators atop the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Women’s ladder with the remainder of the round to conclude on Sunday.

Gators also become the sixth side to notch double figures against Power this season.

What They Said

“The Gap rarely turns up a golden boot winner because we score from all over the park. We like to be a threat in all areas including up front, across the midfield and even some of our defenders. Our first goal is to win the league. We have two tough games coming up that could prevent us from winning undefeated but it is a target of ours. We could get a perfect season.” – Rob Askew, Gap Women FC coach

“There is no easy way to play against the Gap because they’re fantastic. They haven’t lost in a year and there is a very good reason why they are the most outstanding team in the NPL. All the objectives I put for the girls before the match were achieved. I wasn’t concerned about the score. We gave the Gap a very uncomfortable night on the pitch because we were physical, and aggressive. I think they’ll be glad they don’t have to play us again.” – Michael Cook, Peninsula Power FC Women coach
