Brisbane City midfielder Scot Coulson says although facing his old Brisbane Strikers teammates will be tough this weekend, he is one hundred per cent focused on getting getting the result.

Coulson played 60 PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues games over three seasons for Strikers, scoring 13 goals, including twice netting against City.

This year the Old Boys game carries added significance, with City just one point and a single place behind their capital city rivals in the league table, which Coulson believes will add to the intensity of the occasion.

“When I think of the fixture, it’s always been a fiery occasion and it’s always good to get the bragging rights if we get the three points and I don't think anything will be different this weekend,” Coulson described.

“I know a lot of people still at Strikers, I have a lot of good mates and had a number of good years there. But at the same time it will still be difficult but a great, very competitive game.”

“It’s an important one in terms of our season and the league. Every point we are playing for from now until the end of the season is crucial, especially this one.”

Coulson, who has lined up nine times for City without scoring so far this season, believes City’s team of new recruits are finally gelling, and he himself is also finding his feet.

“I think we are really coming into our own now. We’re starting to understand how we play, each others strengths and weaknesses and that’s very important for any club to get results.”

“I think I’m finding my feet better now than I was for the previous four or five weeks so it’s really good,” he concluded.

City have a disappointing PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Queensland record against their cross-town rivals, winning just one of six prior league encounters.
