Stephanie Foreman and Jayde Lowe both struck hat-tricks as Gold Coast City Women walloped Peninsula Power Women 11-0 at Duncan McKenna Field.

City stormed to a four-goal lead inside the opening twenty minutes to effectively put the result beyond Power’s reach but didn’t let up as they recorded the biggest win by any team in the competition so far this season.

Foreman and Lowe’s hat-tricks were complemented by a brace to Neesa Doyle, while Charlotte Rayner, Goergia Elliston and Chelsea Teveluwe also chimed in with a goal apiece.

The defeat is the second time Power have conceded double figures this season and follows a nine goal defeat in their last outing against league-leaders The Gap FC Women.

The result also marks a fifth straight match without defeat for City and their first clean sheet of the campaign.

What They Said

“We said from the start we needed to go in hard and dominate and that’s what we did. We played our style of football this week, which worked for us well. We also finished more chances than we have been which is good as well.“ – Jamilla Riley, Gold Coast City Women captain

“We’ve had a few losses already this season but that’s really the first game where I have been disappointed in the girls and their performance and their effort. We will have to have a really hard look at that next week at training.” – Michael Cook, Peninsula Power Women coach
