Brisbane City striker Antonio Murray says his team are not panicking as they prepare for their clash against Northern Fury in Ingham on Saturday night.

City succumbed to their second straight defeat last weekend, falling 1-0 to FNQ Heat following a disappointing 4-2 loss in Ipswich against Pride the week prior.

However, City were far from outclassed by the league-leading Heat - a point Murray said was emphasised by coach John Kosmina post-match.

“Kossy told us that he was happy with Saturday, even though we lost," Murray explained.

"He said that you get those games where you play well and lose, and sometimes you don't turn up and win. Hopefully they’ll even themselves out throughout the season.”

“We didn't really create as much as we wanted to, but that will hopefully come. So we’re not panicking. Like the manager said, we played well and we thought we played well ourselves.”

This weekend City make their first trip of the season to the state's tropical north to take on the struggling Fury, who are still searching for their first competition point this season.

However, Murray said despite the hosts lowly position on the table they will still offer a stern test.

“I think they played a lot better against Gold Coast and took them right to the wire, so maybe they’ve turned the corner a bit,” he opined.

“We need three points ourselves so we cant take any team for granted, although saying that, we will go up there with a winning mentality and look to get the three points.”

Murray expects to make his 50th PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues start for City in the clash - a surprise milestone in a career that has already yielded a staggering 47 goals and the league's Golden Boot award in 2013.

“I hadn't realised until this week. It makes me feel my age I suppose, but its a good milestone to reach. I’ll just keep taking each game as it comes and try to score more goals.”

History favours the marksman, who has never failed to find the back of the net against Fury - boasting six goals in his previous four matches against the Townsville club.
