Emma Pittman struck four goals in ten minutes as Eastern Suburbs FC Women ran away with a 6-0 victory over Redlands United Women at Cleveland Showgrounds.

Redlands held firm throughout the first-half on their home turf but had no answers in the second stanza as Pittman delivered a stunning second-half blitz to storm to the top of the Golden Boot race.

The attackers haul was complemented by a further goal to Jenna McCormick - who scored for a second straight week - and a late own goal.

The win lifts Easts top of the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Women’s standings, with four further matches remaining in the round.

It also means Redlands must wait atleast one more week for their maiden win the competition.

What They Said

“The first half was positive because we were creating the chances. (Coach Garrath McPherson) said keep going with what we were doing. We needed to get more runners into the box so that we could finish and I think we executed what we came here to do.“ - Michaela Hatzirodos, Eastern Suburbs FC Women

“The first half we just played so well and defended so well. Our plan was to try and work on our defence and it was a faultless first half. The half-time break is what broke our rhythm up and killed us. But it was a tough assignment from the word go and in the second half we just ran out of legs.” – John Blanco, Redlands United FC Women coach
