Brisbane Roar Youth concluded their Foxtel National Youth League season in style with a comprehensive 5-1 defeat of Melbourne Victory Youth on Friday at AAMI Park.

Nicholas D’Agostino snared a late brace for Young Roar – adding to earlier goals from Dane Ingham and Jesse Daley – before Mitch Hore rounded out the result in time added on.

Victory Youth levelled terms immediately prior to half-time in front of their home fans, but offered no reply in the second stanza as Young Roar’s attacking prowess came to the fore.

The result locks in a second place finish in Conference A for Josh McCloughan's side and a competition leading goal difference of plus 18 goals.

Young Roar sought to assert their influence on the contest early as Ingham delivered the opening goal just two minutes in by rounding Victory Youth goalkeeper Lucas Spinella and converting into an empty net for his second score in as many weeks.

The remainder of the half saw both goalkeeper tested - Spinella twice denying D’Agostino and Young Roar’s Andre Jannese proving up to task against his former club with crucial stops against John Maclean and Joey Katebian.

However, Maclean ultimately got the better of Jannese just prior to the break by steering in a shot at the far post.

The visitors remained under pressure after the restart but proved determined in defence against the increasingly buoyant Victory attack.

Their resilience was rewarded not long after the hour when Daley hit a first-time finish on the cut-back to cap off an impressive Foxtel National Youth League campaign.

A quarter hour later and D’Agostino added breathing room with composed headed finish at the far post to open his personal account.

A typically busy performance from the striker received further reward when he drove home his second of the match in the final minutes of the contest.

In time added on Young Roar captain Hore iced the victory – his side’s fifth in this summer's Foxtel National Youth League - with his side's final goal of the campaign.

The remainder of the final round of fixtures will conclude this weekend, with Conference B sides Sydney FC Youth and Newcastle Jets Youth both in the hunt to meet Adelaide United Youth in the Grand Final.

Young Roar will now turn attentions to their PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland campaign, with a pre-season fixture already confirmed against Western Pride in late February.
