Young Roar's GF Hopes Dashed

Brisbane Roar

Words: Michael Flynn

Brisbane Roar Youth's hopes of qualifying for the Foxtel National Youth League Grand Final are over after Adelaide United Youth claimed top spot in Conference A on Sunday.

The Young Reds' 2-1 win over Perth Glory Youth guarantees the South Australian club a place in the season decider with an unassailable six point lead over Young Roar in Conference A.

Their opponent in the Grand Final will be determined in next week's final round of home-and-away fixtures after Newcastle Jets Youth kept alive their hopes of qualifying with a 1-0 win over Conference B leaders Sydney FC Youth.

Young Roar conclude their season in Melbourne this Friday against Melbourne Victory Youth before turning their attention to the upcoming PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland 2016 season.

Josh McCloughan's side will open their PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland campaign at home against Brisbane Strikers on February 27.
