Brendan White says he has ‘unfinished business’ in 2016 after being announced as Redlands United’s latest signing for the upcoming season.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper joins Igor Sao Jose as the second announced re-signing for the bayside club following their third place finish last season.

White proved a stand-out performer in his first season of PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland football – acknowledged as the competition’s premier shot-stopper after receiving the 2016 Safe Hands Award.

Recently cited as a player to watch outside the Hyundai A-League, White said the club’s potential to build on their first top four finish was a driving factor in his return.

“I feel like there is unfinished business there after coming so close and not making that final and just missing out on the FFA Cup final 32,” explained White.

“With the team that we are building this year we can go all the way and I want to be a part of that.”

White reflected on his efforts last season, that saw him keep six clean sheets in 22 league appearances.

“As a player I didn’t make too many big errors in my game and it was probably my most consistent season being in good form,” said White.

“That was my personal development but as a team we had the talent and with a few different changes we worked together and finally found that formula.”

He suggested that he and the club may prove even more formidable next season and his looking forward to a full pre-season.

“I got back two weeks before last season started so now I’ll actually get a proper preseason and gel with the boys and the new boys as well,” said White.

“It’s important that we get off to a good start from that very first game and get a win straight away,” he concluded.
