Pride Prepare For Pre-Season Test

Western Pride will receive an early gauge on their pre-season preparations when they face Brisbane Premier League Champions Peninsula Power in a friendly on Saturday.
The match marks the start of Pride’s pre-season fixtures and will be played at Kippen Park, home to Pride catchment club Western Spirit.
Pride coach Graham Harvey said the match will be a chance to see how his team’s pre-season is progressing against a high quality opponent.
“What we’re trying to get out of the game is a bit of a benchmark as to where we are – obviously Peninsula Power last year won the BPL and have recruited quite well again,” Harvey explained.
“We have been back in pre-season for a few weeks and you run the danger of thinking you are progressing better than what you are unless you go play some opposition.”
Harvey added he is particularly eager to see how a raft of triallists fare as he continues to assemble his squad for the season ahead.
Pride have confirmed five returning players for PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland 2016 thus far, with further signings expected to be announced in coming days.
