Brisbane Roar Youth posted their second straight Foxtel National Youth League win after downing Melbourne Victory Youth 3-1 at Cleveland Showgrounds on Saturday.

Dane Ingham and Jesse Daley delivered Young Roar a two goal advantage at the break before Harrison Sawyer wrapped up the result from the penalty spot in the second half.

The trios' goals were their first in the competition this season, while the result continues Josh McCloughan’s perfect start as Young Roar coach following last week’s 2-0 away win over Perth Glory Youth.

In their first home match of the season, the hosts withstood a strong opening 15 minutes from the visiting Victory Youth before taking control of the contest on the back of slick passing led by captain Mitch Hore and Daley in midfield.

Ingham opened accounts with a powerful, deflected shot just after the half hour before Daley doubled the advantage only minutes later with a spectacular long-range effort.

Both Ingham and Daley debuted for Young Roar earlier this year as part of the team's PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland 2015 season.

In the second half, Victory Youth flirted with a comeback - halving the margin shortly after the hour mark via a free-kick from their captain Joseph Katebian.

However, Young Roar responded only minutes later when Sawyer, in his first start for the club, converted from the penalty spot after Ingham was felled inside the box.

The result sees Young Roar move into top spot in Conference A of the Foxtel National Youth League.

Young Roar have the bye in Round 3 and continue their season against Adelaide United Youth on Sunday week in the South Australian capital.

In other results, Perth Glory Youth and Melbourne City Youth recorded their first points of the campaign following a 1-1 draw.

Conference B sees two matches scheduled for Sunday as FFA Centre of Excellence host Newcastle Jets Youth and Western Sydney Wanderers Youth face Central Coast Mariners Youth.

The opening rounds two Conference leaders - Sydney FC Youth (Conference B) and Adelaide United Youth (Conference A) - both have the bye in Round 2.
