PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland Women’s Select representatives Rebekah Horsey and Greta Bodey shared the individual honours at UQFC Women’s end-of-season presentation night.

The pair split the votes for Players’ Player of the Year, while Horsey’s consistent efforts also earned her the Coach’s Award.

Horsey and Bodey both won significant minutes for the Women’s Select squad in last month’s friendly against Brisbane Roar’s Westfield W-League side after leading UQFC to fourth.

Ipswich product Horsey proved a rock throughout the year for Wayne Gibbon’s side, laying the platform for the team’s attacking exploits and adding a goal of her own in the final round of the regular season to help sew up a top-four spot.

Bodey did the bulk of the damage at the other end, powering home 32 goals across a prolific campaign.

UQFC Technical Director Craig Pilon praised the duo’s contribution on and off the pitch in 2015.

“Greta and Bek have been outstanding role models within the senior women’s side this year,” Pilon said.

“They have gone above and beyond our expectations for the club with the girls not only leading by example on the field but also embracing our coach mentoring program, assisting with our U15 Girls throughout the season and also attending the recent female-only Skill Training Certificate course.”
