Limited time for preparation won’t curb the attacking intent of the PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland Women’s Select in Sunday’s friendly against Brisbane Roar.

UQFC forward Greta Bodey (above) and Peninsula Power striker Brittany Whitfield form two parts of a potent 17-player squad which also features the likes of Deeanna Thompson and Samara Christmas.

Bodey, who plundered 32 goals this term, can’t wait to link up with the squad’s striking talents at Goodwin Park.

“Really excited. When we (UQFC) played against them throughout the season they were always good to watch,” Bodey said.

“Pretty happy to play alongside them and even for the midfield girls to set us up, which will be impressive.

“It would be great to (personally) get one on the weekend but I think the main focus will be putting on a strong team performance so we can maybe get a result against the Roar.”

Potentially lining up alongside Bodey will be ex-Sydney FC striker Whitfield (below).

The former Young Matildas representative finished with four hattricks amongst a 25-goal season and hopes to take it to the Westfield W-League outfit.

“That’s the plan. We have a great attacking side so hopefully we’ll benefit from that,” Whitfield said.

“We’ll get them on the back foot when they’re not expecting it.”

Whitfield’s goalscoring exploits this term helped Power to the second week of the PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland Women’s Finals Series.

The 21-year-old says Sunday’s match is the perfect way to cap a promising 2015.

“It’s a big pleasure to be selected and a great way to the end the season,” she said.

“Power finished strong – we never expected to make it that far. This is just a bonus of it.”
