The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the re-signing of Neseya Parker-Williams for the 2022 season.

Neseya joined the Wolves in 2020 and has been a crucial part of the success of the women’s program over the last two years. From a West Coast Classic Championship in 2020 to a Grand Final appearance in 2021, Neseya has become a fan favourite with her athleticism and ability to score and rebound the ball.

Neseya averaged 10.7 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per game in 2021 but her form really exploded in the lead up to the Grand Final with 17 points against the Perth Redbacks and 20 points against Warwick Senators respectively.

Wolves CEO Andrew Summerville said.

“I am really happy to have Neseya back in Green for 2022. Not only is she a great basketball player she is also a great person. I got to know Neseya a little better this year as I had the privilege to work closely with her on our club’s plan for Indigenous Round. Neseya cares deeply about her culture and is passionate about being a positive role model for First Nations people. She inspires me and I am sure she will inspire many others at the Wolves this year both on and off the court.”

Neseya had this to say on why she decided to stay at the Wolves for her third season.

I am really looking forward to the 2022 season with the Wolves. Joondalup is such a great club with an awesome atmosphere. I can’t wait to get to work with the new coach Marcus as well as the girls both old and new. I can’t wait to again play in front of the best fans in the league in my opinion.”

When asked about signing Neseya, new Head Coach Marcus Wong said.

I am really excited to be able to coach Neseya, she is a very talented athlete with great athleticism who can play across multiple positions. The game style will suit her strengths and she will continue to have a big impact on the league. I am looking forward to getting on the floor and working with her and helping her to achieve her goal of getting back into the WNBL”.
