Jordan Wellsteed is back for 2023

The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the return of Jordan Wellsteed for the 2023 NBL1 West season.

Jordan Wellsteed is a player who embodies the Wolfpack culture to the fullest, always giving the extra effort on both ends of the floor and facing defensive challenges head on. Jordan was awarded Wolves defensive player of the year during his first season as team captain in 2022.

Here’s what Jordan had to say about his re-signing:

“It’s an honour to resign with the Wolves for 2023. I’m looking forward to getting back out there and taking another step on what we built last year. I really think that with the additions we’ve made, we can do something special. I can’t wait to be back on court in front of our great Wolfpack fans!”

NBL1 Head Coach David Morrell had this to say about Jordan’s re-signing:

“We are very pleased to bring back Jordan Wellsteed for 2023. Jordan bleeds green as a Wolves junior. He was captain for the first-time last year, and he’s already building this year on his leadership and his ability to steer the team culture to the vision that he shares with us as the coaching staff – of excellence, winning, and unselfish teammates.

Jordan’s length, quickness, and strength at 6-foot-6 and his desire to really defend and hustle made him defensive player of the year for us in 2022. He defends, he rebounds, and he is an unselfish, underrated offensive player as well. He is a huge contributor as a leader, and on the court, he sets the tone for us in everything we want our identity to be about as a team.”

Jordan joins teammates CJ Turnage, Jonathan Wade, Bryan Michaels and Gabe Chadinha for the 2023 NBL1 West season.
