Learn to Become a Referee

Basketball Referee

Are you aged 14 or over and interested in becoming a paid Basketball Referee?

The Camberwell branch of the Victorian Basketball Referee’s Association (CBRA) looks after the training, development and governance of referees for the Whitehorse Mustangs, Balwyn Blazers and Camberwell Dragons. The CBRA conducts two training courses each year. The training course is open to anyone age 14 and above, including adults. It is never too late to learn the rules and is a great way to keep fit while giving back to the sport of basketball and earning some extra cash.

The Mustangs encourages all of its members to consider becoming a Referee as the club is responsible for maintaining its own pool of referees and ensuring that there are enough referees to officiate at all of our home games at Box Hill High School and Orchard Grove Primary School.

If you are interested in becoming a referee, please email the club at admin@whitehorsebasketball.org.au where we will register your interest.

Members of the Mustangs committee are also available to discuss refereeing, or maybe also talk to one of our referees at a home game.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
