NEWS: 'Change Our Game' Networking lunch to be held on Friday October 5 at GMHBA Stadium

THE Office for Women in Sport and Recreation would like to invite representatives from all Geelong Region football clubs along to the 'Change Our Game' Networking Lunch - Advancing Women in Coaching, to be held in Geelong on Friday 5th October at GMHBA Stadium.

This event is the second in the Change Our Game Lunch Series, following on from the successful Change Our Game Networking Lunch earlier in the year. With a specific focus on coaching, a range of strategies will be discussed to ensure our club environments are best suited to attract, retain and advance women and girls who are looking at taking on coaching roles.

The lunch will be headlined by a number of high profile guest speakers including:

  • Bec Goddard - inaugural AFLW premiership coach
  • Emma Highwood - Head of Women's Football at Football Federation Australia
  • Donna Rae Szalinski, Head Coach of the Australian Women Road Cycling team, former pro team Director Sportif

The presentations will provide some practical solutions to common barriers whilst inspiring attendees to work towards levelling the playing field for women and girls in sport and recreation.

The event will be a curtain raiser to the much anticipated Festival of Sport which will be taking place in the region over that weekend.

Networking opportunities will be built into the schedule to ensure all attendees have the opportunity to share ideas and learn from those external to their organisation.
