Message from Chairperson including news for our Summer 20/21 comp

Dear members,

We are closing in on nearly 10 weeks since resuming local basketball activities at MVDBAI following the government imposed restrictions and it has been great to see so many familiar faces back at the stadium as part of our staged return to ‘normal’ operation. This period was critical for us to ensure the resumption of basketball was in a safe and achievable way while ensuring compliance with all state and federal health requirements. We know it hasn't been easy and there are a lot of new processes and some additional rules that were implemented to keep all our members, staff and visitors safe while still enjoying our great game.

The Board is very grateful for the support of all members and visitors for complying with these rules and for your patience and understanding over recent weeks. The Board would also like to take a moment to thank our wonderful MVDBAI staff and volunteers who have been doing an outstanding job during these challenging times.

As we are now in the last week of our winter social competition we are starting to look toward the summer 2020 competition. Team nominations are currently open and we hope to see many more friendly faces back at the stadium again soon.

Progressing towards normal operations wherever we can safely is our priority and as a result I am pleased to confirm, commencing from the upcoming summer 2020 competition, we are increasing the number of times a member may play per week in our domestic competition from once to twice per week, subject to existing competition playing rules of course. However, it is important to note that all other restrictions and safety processes will remain in place as the safety of members, staff and the entire community is our priority.

Kind Regards,

Nigel Browne

Chairman

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
