At the 2011 Wheelchair Rugby Workshop hosted by Wheelchair Sports Australia, the decision was made to focus on development and player participation for the 2012 National Wheelchair Rugby League.
In 2012, the League will change to become a development series (National Wheelchair Rugby Series - NWRS) to allow greater player participation and development opportunities. We are once again very excited about the upcoming season and are looking forward to a great year.
The 2012 Natioanl Wheelchair Rugby Series (NWRS) will incorporate two stand alone tournaments and one National Wheelchair Rugby Championships.
Players will register to play for Tournament 1 and Tournament 2 and will be allocated to teams by a Selection Panel. Teams will be chosen to achieve similar competitive levels amongst all teams, however where possible if players can be grouped by state it will be considered.
Players will need to complete the Individual Registration Form and Code of Conduct Form and submit registration payment through your State Member Organisation (not WSA) by the due dates as outlined in the 2012 NWRS Entry Pack.
To find your local State Member Organisation please visit the LINKS page.
The National Wheelchair Rugby Championships will be State based teams and selected by State Organisations.
