GIO NSW Gladiators - NWRL Champions
Finals Round update
The NWRL came to an exciting end on the weekend as the GIO NSW Gladiators secured their sixth consecutive National Championship title in Adelaide on 17 July 2011.
Dominating from start to finish, the GIO NSW Gladiators cruised through the finals before beating Victorian ‘Coloplast’ Thunder 57 to 39 in the grand final. The Victorian ‘Coloplast’ Thunder will be disappointed not to have come away with more this season following a strong start and some great performances but in the end, it was the 2011 MVP Ryley Batt that proved the difference.
It was a closer encounter for the bronze medal as the South Australian Sharks edged out the Jetstar Gold Coast Titans Wheelchair Rugby Squad by 60 to 56. After some positive and solid individual performances this season, players will be keen to return in 2012 to try to derail the GIO NSW Gladiators rollercoaster.
