The Sydney Winter Metro Competition Finals have come around! WPNSW would like to wish the best of luck to all teams competiting! Please Note that presentations will be made after each match! Please find the schedule below:
OPEN Mens (Tuesday 14 August)
- Ryde Aquatic Centre:
- 7.15pm: M7 – SNB v Sydney Uni
- 8.15pm: M6 – Drummoyne v Watson’s Bay
- 9.15pm: M5 – Blue Mountains v Sydney Uni
- Auburn Aquatic Centre:
- 7.15pm: M4 – Sydney Uni v Ryde
- 8.15pm: M3 – Drummoyne v UTS Balmain Black
- 9.15pm: M1/2 – UNSW Wests Black v Macquarie Uni
OPEN Ladies (Wednesday 15 August)
- Ryde Aquatic Centre:
- 7.15pm: L5 – Sydney Uni v UTS Balmain
- 8.00pm: L4 – Ryde v SNB
- 8.45pm: L3 – Ryde v Stingers
- 9.30pm: L1/2 – UNSW Wests Yellow v SNB
. See below information the Finals Series, which differs from the regular rounds:
Game Timings:
- ALL games will be 4 x 5 minute actual quarters.
- 60 minutes has been allocated for Men’s Grand Final games
- 45 minutes has been allocated for Ladies Grand Final games (due to pool booking/availability)
Penalty Shoot Outs:
- If teams are even at full time in any finals matches, there will be a penalty shoot-out in all grades.
- Penalty shootout sheets will be available at each venue.
Timeouts:
- 2x time outs per team are permitted in all finals matches to be used at any point in the game.
Scorecard & Table Official:
- WPNSW will supply table officials for the Grand Final games.
Player Eligibility:
It is the responsibility of Clubs to properly manage the eligibility of players for Finals in accordance with the Competition Rules. To save any confusion, WPNSW will NOT be distributing eligibility lists as player details should have been recorded correctly throughout the season and can be found on the website - CLICK HERE
Any queries are to be addressed to WPNSW for clarification at least 48 hours prior to the game.
For clarity:
- A player must have played in four (4) games as an eligible player, in that grade in that specific team (if there are multiple teams in the one grade) to be eligible for Winter Finals. As per standard procedures, player exemptions should be in writing to WPNSW no later than 7 days prior to the commencement of the finals series. Any requests outside of this time frame will need to detail exceptional circumstance for consideration and be no less than 48 hours before any game.
