Pistons have given the TARANAKI MOUNTAIN AIRS their fourth straight loss with a 104-84 win in Tauranga.
THOMAS ABERCROMBIE had his highest score of the season with thirty, twenty two of which was in the first half, where he shot 5/7 from behind the arc.
Waikato won every period against the Airs, but made their biggest move in the second winning it 28-18.
Taranaki did start the game off well, going point for point in the first quarter, having the lead a couple of times.
New addition ZANE MEEHL in his first start, complemented JACK LEASURE nicely in the back court scoring seven of his fourteen points in the period.
Leasure would have twelve in the first half, but be held to only five more points in the second. Turnovers costing the Airs in the first half with eleven.
In the second half the Pistons would hold a double digit lead for the majority of the game, until seven minutes remaining when a MARCUS CAMPBELL three point play to cut the lead to eight.
But HAYDEN ALLEN (18 points) hit a three in the next possession, and from there on the Pistons would outscore Taranaki 23-11.
In the battle of the biggest players in the league Alex Pledger and Campbell, each got a double/doubles in points and rebounds (Pledger 12 & 10, Campbell 12 & 14).
