What a phenomenal weekend of footy that was! Thank you New York Magpies and DC Eagles Football Club, as well as individuals from the High Park Demons AFC and Halifax Australian Rules Football for coming down to Montreal for the women's tournament!
As a curtain raiser to the tournament, we started with Australia vs the World men's match. The Aussies may have done too well spreading the knowledge of their beloved sport, because ultimately, it's team World who have claimed the first ever Pacific platter, winning over team Australia 96 to 62!
In the women's competition, each team claimed one win, with NY Magpies winning over the DC Eagles 35 to 10, the Northern Saints winning over NY Magpies 22 to 19, and DC Eagles winning over the Northern Saints 39 to 27. Ultimately, the tournament cup was awarded to NY Magpies based on the points. Congratulations!!
The day wouldn't be complete without our annual jandal race! The golden jandal award landed in Timothy Leser's hands, being the first to cross the finish line with both jandals!
We ended off the tournament with a fun competition, mixing all 3 women's teams to form the All Saints and the Poutine Pies, with a final score of 23 to 7 for the All Saints.
Congratulations to Bogdan Rotaru and Alex Trollip for being named best man and woman on ground!
