GBAI _ PCYC _ Whats Happening

?? What’s Going On??
Grafton Basketball Association’s contract to manage the Grafton Sports Centre was scheduled to conclude in September 2020 this has been moved forward to 30th June 2019.
Clarence Valley Council will be working with GBAI along with PCYC and other providers to continue the management and operation of the centre until PCYC have completed their works and open the facility under the name of PCYC.
PCYC will be commencing works on the sports centre after their tender process is completed. It is anticipated these works will begin around July 2019 with a target completion date of December 2019.

Georgina McArthur the Sports Centre Manager has accepted a full time job away from the centre, she remains doing the books until June 30th. Hamish Denshire Development Officer will remain working with the GBAI until the close off of 30th June 2019.
GBAI will only be responsible for maintaining basketball and will be a user of the centre like all other sporting organisations on a hire basis.
Junior Basketball - discussions are continuing with PCYC in relation to the management and running of Junior Basketball, PCYC into the future will be in a position to work with the juniors and program managers and parents along with GBAI to ensure the Juniors grow and thrive potentially offering varying programs to aid in the success of a Junior program.
Senior Basketball - will continue to run as per normal on a Monday managed and operated by GBAI exclusively.
Grafton Vikings Representative teams - will also be solely managed by GBAI that is North Coast Shield, Northern Junior League, Sunshine Conference and any other Basketball NSW competitions.
Some exciting things could be on the horizon with Pat Hagan embarking on a 3x3 comp into the future, GBAI looking at some fantastic coaching clinics for our kiddos and much more.. watch this space.
What does this mean for GBAI, the need for people to help out, Score Bench Operators, Coaches, Referees, Player development, assistance with events, Court Controllers, First Aiders, Delegates & Committee Members are what make a Basketball Association function, please consider how you think might be able to contribute and put your hand up to help grow basketball again.
