Divisions, A or Div 1 ?

Our competiton runs on divisions. 

A = Div1

A Reserve = Div 2

B = Div 3

B Reserve = Div 4

 

So on and so forth for as many divisions as we require. 

 

Why only 8 teams per division?

 

8 teams is the best number to allow each team to play each other twice in a competition and the flow into a finals series for the top 4 teams. 

 

How many divisions are there?

 

The number of divisions in will be dependant on the number of teams that apply.  For example, if we have 32 teams apply, we will have 4 divisions of 8 teams. 

 

How will ODBA select what team goes in what division?

 

You will be able to nominate for your division, we don’t anticipate too many changes to current team placements. If we require we may hold a grading day. ODBA has a fair understanding of our players, teams and what divisions they are best suited to.

 

Can I play in more that one division? 

We will be very strict with players only playing in one division. We get lots of complaints from people about Div 1 grade players playing in Div 2 and 3 Teams. To compensate for people who want to play in multiple teams we have 3x3.

 

What about getting reserve player for when my team is short?

Teams will be able to draw from the division below them for reserve players, but once a player has played up more than 5 times in a season they will be required to stay up a division. 

 

I heard that Div 1 is fully timed?

Yes, Div 1 for Mens and Womens is fully timed.

 

So how many competitions are there?

Senior Competition: Mens and Womens

High school Competition: Boys and Girls

Primary Competition: Mixed

3 x 3 : Mens, Womens, Boys and Girls

Provvided you meet the criteria you can play in multiple competitons. Eg, Highschool, Snr Comp, 3x3
