2 Wins To Start The Arafura Games

The H4H Womens Basketball Team kicked off the Arafura Games Tournament with 2 wins on Day One of competition.

In the first game the girls came up against Macau and won convincingly 111 - 35. All players contributed with Olympian Rohanee Cox (pictured) scoring 34 and Delsey Ahwang 26. The mother and daughter combination of Patricia Graham and Mishy Friel combined for 34 points between them.

The second game pitted the H4H Team against the homeside Northern Territory.

Delsey Ahwang chipped in early and kept the scoreboard ticking for the H4H Team. Alex Wilson from South Australia started for H4H alongside fellow Under 18 Nationals representative Justine Schmidt.

In a tight affair the H4H team hung on against a gallant NT team to win 69 to 59. Letticha Clarke hit some cutch buckets down the stretch while Claire O'Bryan played a lone hand for the NT Team with an outstanding 31 points. Ahwang and Cox had 19 and 17 respectively for Hoops. Wilson and Schmidt also had 8 points each.

H4H has the bye today and plays the PNG Highlands and New Caledonia on Tuesday.
