No Show for Ghana at the 2010 Youth Olympics
August 2010 will mark the first ever youth olympics in Singapore and unfortunately Ghana will not be making a showing in the unvailing of the new FIBA33 basketball event, which is a 3on3 game played on a standard basketball half court.
There was no qualification process for the new FIBA event at this years Youth Olympicss. Countries were invited based on the their advancements for the development of youth basketball in theire respective countries and regions. African countries like Mali will be making a showing at the first ever Youth Olympics this coming summer in Singapore. Nevertheless Ghana is looking forward to commence it's youth basketball development programmes so as to build a strong foundtion for its National Teams. December 2009 saw signs this progress when the GBBA in collaboration with vaious basketball and sports partners organised the Young Players Clinic at the ICGC basketball facility. The clinics also included a young coaches clinic, U18 Boys&Girls clinic and a Mini Basketball cliic which was in collaboration with FIBA Africa Zone 3 youth programmes. Ghana is sure to make showing at subsequent youth basketball events in and around the continent in the coming years.
