Cats 99 (K Bradley 25, J Murphy 18, F Bradley 16) def Cougars 57 (T de Wit 27, D Kuring 14, N Fisher 9)

The Cougars and Cats were both in looking for their first win of the season in this contest. The Cats led by 25 points from Kade Bradley were on a scoring mission piling on a season best 99 points. Toby de Wit continued his good scoring form for the Cougars with 27 points, however the home side had too much fire power on the night and came away with an easy win.

Panthers 88 (O Thomson 23, K Tipene 21, R Hein 20) def Bulldogs Blue 80 (S Berkefeld 21, J Jenner 17, W Wright 16)

The Panthers were able to over come their first serious challenge of the season. The Simon Berkefeld led Bulldogs threw everything they could at the Panthers to give themselves a shot a victory. Oli Thompson continued to shine for the Panthers with 23 points, it was however Kyle Tipene who was the steadying influence for his side when they needed it. The Panthers hold onto top spot as the only side who has not dropped a game so far.

Roos 81 (Malok Makuer 28, Mony Makuer 18, C Bachmann 11) def Bulldogs Red 62 (M Black 22, M Hirlam 17, P Loring 14)

The Bulldogs Red controlled this contest for three quarters and simply ran out of legs as the fast running Roos ran all over them in the last quarter.

Matt Black and Matt Hirlam were providing a great action out the Bulldogs On Ball Screen action that had the Roos perplexed in the first half. Some second half adjustments and improved fast break game got the Roos back in the contest and gave them some momentum going in to the last quarter. First game Mackye Baron iced the game for the Roos with his first points in SECBL right on the buzzer.

Cougars 69 (M Russell 25, K Ousey 14, S Ritter 12) def Cats 67 (G Winter 19, E Winter 17, H Nitschke 14)

A late basket from Casey Horrigan was enough to get the Cougars over the line in this tight contest. Emily Winter and Mel Russell both huge contributors for their respective teams. Georgia Winter’s impact on the game was important for the Cats as was the play of young guns Keryl Ousey and Sarah Ritter for the Cougars. The game intense from the tip off between the two rivals and it was no surprise this game went down to the wire.

Saints 57 (J Howe 19, O Fuller 19, T Rowe 9) def Bulldogs Roos 49 (C Hunter 14, M Wormald 11, S Nulty 8)

The Saints took on the improved Bulldogs/Roos side, the contest was in the balance for much of the game however the class of Saints player Jasmin Howe was too much for the challenging side to overcome. Claire Hunter had her best scoring game for her side with 14 points. Olivia Fuller and Jasmin Howe continued to stamp their authority on the league with 19 points each, the Saints looking like the early favourites in the competition.
