The Chemist King has once again shown its fantastic support for our senior Mount Gambier Lakers programs by signing on as a partner for the next two seasons.

The senior program has been boosted with the return of the women's program which will be led by head coach Scott O'Connor.

Scott is excited about the role 'I've never coached women's basketball before but I am excited to learn with the group and am ready for the challenge.' 

'We have only had a short pre season but have managed to have good commitment from the girls and they have worked hard in a short period and should feel confident about the season ahead.'

Pioneer player Olivia Wormald is also looking forward to the season, 'I have loved the move down here to the mount and it is another opportunity for me to develop my game, it should be fun.'

The Women's team kick off their season this Sunday the 13th at the Ice House, 1pm against the Warrnambool Mermaids.

The Men's program will be looking to defend their title this season. The side will be boast some Pioneer talent including Braiden Ousey and Lachie Hunter.

Matthew Berkefeld is confident in his group, 'We really enjoy the CBL season, we train hard and enjoy playing together which we feel gives us a chance in most games.'

'It's amazing to have great support from Chemist King, it helps us get on court and have this opportunity so we are very grateful!'

The Men's team have their first game Saturday October 19th, 7pm at the Ice house against the Stawell Wildcats.
