Standing at 200cm tall, Lipman cuts an imposing figure and has long been regarded as one of the league’s premier ruckmen, with his elite tap work and ability to impact the game at both ends of the ground.
A three-time league representative, Lipman polled votes in eight of his 16 games, including five best on ground performances.
In the evening’s other major award, Maffra defender Montana Holmes secured her third Hutchison Medal as A Grade best and fairest.
Holmes finished with an impressive 31 votes to finish three clear of decorated defender and league newcomer Christie Hillberg of Warragul and 2015 winner Courtney Garth of Morwell, who finished on 25.
The 23-year-old previously won the award in 2013 while playing for Sale and in 2016 while playing for Moe.
In her second season in the red and black of Maffra, Holmes polled votes in 14 games, including the maximum three votes on six occasions.
The remaining best and fairest awards were presented following online vote counts held over the past two weeks.
Traralgon’s Jake Bishop collected the Hartley Medal as reserves best and fairest, Thomas Bradshaw of Maffra claimed the Wilkinson Medal as under-18 best and fairest and Vinnie Caia of Warragul scooped the Shaw-Carter Medal as under-16 best and fairest.
Kasie Rump of Leongatha was awarded her second Dawn Pearce Medal as B Grade best and fairest – having previously won it in 2017 – while clubmate Elicia Garnham walked away with the Karen Proctor Medal as C Grade best and fairest.
Morwell’s Chloe Radford and Maffra pair Jasmyn Hennig and Matilda Pendergast picked up the 17-and-under, 15-and-under and 13-and-under netball awards respectively.
In other awards, Garth won the Gippsland Cosmetic Laser Clinic A Grade Netball Most Valuable Player Award, while Rosato tied with Leongatha defender Chris Verboon for the football equivalent.
Saskia Eenjes (Traralgon) took out the AGA Rookie of the Year Award for netball, while Jack McLaren (Sale) and Cameron Olden (Leongatha) shared the football award.
