Wonthaggi Power’s round 14 win against Warragul was particularly special for champion Courtney Blair, who celebrated her 200th senior game in style.
Courtney’s decorated career started at the Wonthaggi Netball Association, where her huge talent was recognised at a young age.
She was part of the Association’s victorious representative team at the 15-and-under state championships, before moving to the Wonthaggi Blues, where she played 17-and-under for three years and was runner-up best-and-fairest in the league three times.
Courtney also played in the A grade side at age 15, often playing two games per day.
Courtney has many best and fairest awards to her name including nine for Wonthaggi Power and is a two-time premiership player, firstly in the juniors, then in A grade in Alberton in 2009.
Courtney has also been in the Gippsland League Team of the Year five times and a member of the league’s Regional Victorian Netball League team, contributing to the team’s back-to-back premierships.
Courtney has coached the Wonthaggi A grade team, where she has developed many young players, and is a true inspiration to the netball community throughout Gippsland.
Congratulations Courtney on your achievement. Those who know you have a very high regard for your dedication and commitment to your club and the league.
