Premiership favourites Bambill
make the long trip out to Euston Reserve for their mouth-watering clash against
reigning premiers Euston, in a match that will see both sides hoping
to continue their recent impressive form.
After an early season slump, the return of key playmakers has helped the
Bombers return to their best form in the last few weeks, and coach
Joseph Denaro will be hoping that his team will prove a tough opponent for
the undefeated Saints at home.
Bambill have cruised through this year, and have swept all challengers aside
with ease. However today they come up against the team that knocked them out of
the finals race after a flawless 2008 home and away season,
and Bambill will be dead keen to make sure the same doesn't happen in this
encounter.
There is no doubt this match will be an entertaining one, with both sides
determined to prove a point to the competition. But with the Saints fresh
and ready coming off a bye last week, it’s hard to see them losing this
afternoon.
At Carramar Drive, Nangiloc will have their work cut out for them
against premiership contenders, Gol Gol.
The Demons will be keen to bounce back after being knocked over by Meringur
last week, in a match that could put Nangiloc's finals dreams in jeopardy.
However, the Demons are still in the hunt, and will be determined to
rectify that result today.
The Hawks on the other hand are travelling beautifully at the moment,
and will be looking to seal second spot on the ladder in the
coming weeks. Coach Jason Wilkie has really got his chargers up and firing at
the moment, and he will be hoping his team can get over a young Nangiloc outfit,
in a match that the Hawks will start strong favourites in.
The final game of the round sees Lake Cullulleraine co-tenants, Meringur and
Werrimull, clash at the home of the Millewa.
Meringur will be cock-a-hoop after gaining a confidence boosting win against a fellow finals
hopeful in Nangiloc last round, and they will be looking to carry
over the same intensity that was such a standout feature in
their play last week into today's game.
The Pies on the other hand have been slightly disappointing in recent weeks,
and have been relying on too few to carry the workload. However, if there is
one game that will lift the Pies, it will be against their fierce rivals in
Meringur, and the Roos will have to be on their toes if they want to come
away with a win against a fired up Werrimull outfit today.
